WHAT STUDENTS WANT TO KNOW

1. HOW MANY HOURS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE BARBER COURSE?Class A Barbering requires that you attend a minimum of 1000 hours.

2. APPROXIMATELY HOW LONG MUST I ATTEND IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?You can complete the barber course in 11 months if you attend full time. You have the option of attending full time as well as part time. The time that it will take you in order to complete the course is calculated by how many hours you are able to attend per week in order to reach the required 1000 class hours. School hours are available 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday-Thursday

3. WHEN CAN I ENROLL?Bronx Barber College has open enrollment. You can begin classes on any Monday of the month.

4. WILL I HAVE TO PAY THE ENTIRE TUITION TO START?You may start classes with a payment of $1000, and make monthly payments thereafter.

5. AFTER COMPLETING THE COURSE, WHERE DO I TAKE THE EXAM?There is a written as well as a practical exam, and you can take them at the following locations: Written Exam at THE ATRIUM 1155 Westmreland, Suite 110 El Paso TX 79925 Practical Exam at 4171 N. Mesa, Suite 104A El Paso TX 79902

6. IF I FAIL THE EXAM, DO I HAVE TO RETURN TO A BARBER COLLEGE?At Bronx Barber College, if you fail the exam, you must take the exam again. You can immediately apply for re-examination. Going back to school for a refresher course is also an option.

7. WHAT WILL THE EXAM ENTAIL?You will perform the following procedures: Shave, Facial, Shampoo, and Haircut. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate your chemical knowledge by performing certain procedures on a mannequin. There will also be a written portion of the exam. It is a timed 90 minute, 85 question written exam that requires a 70% to pass successfully.

8. CAN I CUT HAIR FOR A DONATION OR TIPS WHILE I WAIT TO TAKE MY EXAM?The law specifically states that you cannot perform acts of barbering in a licensed establishment without a barbers license.
